Sweet Church History
Sweet Church was build in 1873 by George Harvey.
The non denominational church called the Jefferson Union Township Church over the years became known as Sweet Church so named after James Sweet who donated the land and settled near by. The Church sat abandon for decades.
In 2001 after the church stood empty and subject to vandalism a group from the farming community decided to take action. It was purchased and restoration began.
2002, the group formed the non profit group “Sweet Church Community Organization”
